What should I bring or wear?

Can I purchase wine during the tour?

Yes! You will have the opportunity to purchase wine at each winery, and some may offer special deals or discounts for tour participants.

What happens if we do not manage to meet the minimum number of people?

The tour will not operate with fewer than 4 people. In the event the tour does not get booked for 4 people we will contact you the day before your tour date to reschedule or to provide a refund.

Do I need to tip my guide?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.

Weather Considerations

The tour is held rain or shine, so dress appropriately for the weather. Summer months can get quite hot, so be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and a hat.

Group Minimums

This tour requires a minimum of 4 guests in total. If we do not reach that capacity by 24 hours in advance we will contact you to reschedule or refund you.

Online Waiver

Every guest must sign a waiver before experiencing the tour. This will be emailed to you in advance. If you are booking for a group, please forward the waiver on to others in your group.

Travel with Own Vehicle

Guests will drive their own car from location to location. Maps and GPS info will be provided in your confirmation email. Total distance from the meeting location will be approximately 30 miles.

I simply cannot say enough good things about Sac Town Bites, or the “Taste of the Delta” tour. It was an incredible opportunity and experience to learn more about the Sacramento Delta region, and hang out in some absolutely beautiful places, with some really cool people. We got to meet some remarkable business owners — like Sarah over at Hemly Cider — who along with our tour guide, Caitlin, were incredibly knowledgeable and just super fun to hang out with, and easy to talk-to. Sarah also left me with a newfound respect and appreciation for pears, and is a genuinely inspirational person. Heather, the owner of SacTown Bites, is awesome and has put together something really special. You can tell she really loves what she does, and that she genuinely loves the greater Sacramento region. Her team share that passion and our tour guide Caitlin was a fantastic guide and incredibly knowledgeable. We were on a food and wine tour, but Caitlin was able to identify wild birds out in the field — it was so cool! Again, can’t say enough good things. Five stars all-around! Thanks for a great experience!

The SacTown Bites Delta Tour was so fun! We'd visited the Clarksburg area many times, but we'd never experienced the charm of Hemly Cider, the great food & wine (& kittens for adoption!) at Julietta Winery, or the relaxing calm at Silt Winery's rustic tasting room. Our tour guide Megan was knowledgeable, easy-going, and funny. We couldn't have enjoyed our day more!

Such a great little way to spend a half day! A few girlfriends and I took the 4 hour Taste of the Delta tour and had fun; it was a chill day of friends and sipping wine. We toured a cute little pear cider orchard where we met the owner (did you know pear cider isn't called cider, it's called Perry?), a great little eatery winery where we met the winemaker, and a cool winery with live music and a small charcuterie. The tastings were generous at all locations, and there were bathrooms at every stop. The guide was fun, knowledgeable, and relaxed. The venues were friendly and open to questions. You drive your own car and are able to take photos along the way. I will not only be back to the wineries we visited but will definitely take another SacTown Bites tour again!

UPDATE 6/6/23 I have done two more of these tours since my first post the capay lavender tour was phenomenal, great food and beverages and beautiful views. This weekend I did the taste of the Delta tour and I am hooked on Hemley Cider and their jalapeno pear cider delicious!! Can't wait to see more. The family and I had a great time on the sunflowers tour. They were very accommodating of the little ones too. I would highly recommend and am looking forward to doing this again soon!

This was a wonderful daytime drive adventure out to the Delta, South of Sacramento. All 3 destinations had something unique to offer in views, tasting, and information. Each place provided a brief education and background into their Ciders, Food, and Wine in a very comfortable and relaxed environment. It was a wonderful drive along the Sacramento River with hidden gem destinations. This was a great way to spend our 29th Wedding Anniversary.

I booked a private tour ("Taste of the Delta" ) for my daughter's 30th birthday and it was such a wonderful day! Heather arranged everything including a Sprinter van so we could fully enjoy our tour. She was so responsive and communicative leading up the day. The tour was so much fun. We visited three sites- a cidery and two wineries. It was so interesting to see how pear cider is made and of course we enjoyed tasting all the varieties of cider. Next, we had a delicious lunch at one of the wineries with live music. The last stop was at another winery where we enjoyed a charcuterie plate and wine tasting. Heather was very attentive throughout the whole day. She took lots of great photos and sent me the link. She was the perfect host and we will definitely be booking more tours with her in the future. Thank you, Heather!

I booked the "Taste of the Delta" tour for my friend's bachelorette party. Heather at SacTown Bites was wonderful to work with. She was easy to get a hold of and even helped me get a cake from Freeport Bakery to end the tour with. Heather was a wonderful wealth of knowledge, and it was like she was a part of the group :) She took pictures for us and sent them the next day for me to share with the ladies. The Cidery and Winery were wonderful, and the lunch was fantastic -- BEST CORNBREAD PUDDING I've ever had. I'm looking forward to booking another tour soon!
